Cinema does not always have to consist of a film with a script, actors and a score. For twelve days, artists from varied backgrounds will expand the definition of cinema. With an exhibition featuring surprising installations, performances, concerts and talks, they will shake up the habitual film experience. With the help of thrilling experiments they will show you the road less traveled as you rediscover the magic of cinema. All you have to do is open your eyes and enjoy!

Vooruit programmer Eva De Groote: " Almost Cinema interprets cinema in the broadest sense of the term. We don't oppose traditional cinema, but want to place ourselves on the sidelines of film. What makes Almost Cinema so special is the fact that we dare to move away from basic cinematic principles such as projection, filmstrips and mediums. The artists at Almost Cinema shake up the principles of cinema or take them to the extreme."
